Almost every visitor to the National Park wishes to take a ride in Tito’s Cadillac, which arrived in Brijuni as early as 1953 as a gift to the former president of Yugoslavia from Croatian immigrants in Canada.

The car is maintained in excellent condition

The Cadillac is in excellent condition, original dark green color and originally preserved parts are the dream of every collector of vintage cars. The car is 560 cm long and 200 cm wide, while its engine has a capacity of 5000 cubic centimeters, and it has 260 horsepower and eight cylinders (W type engine). Fifty years ago, there was no awareness of lower fuel consumption, so this Cadillac had an average consumption of 25 liters/100 kilometers.

Famous people in Tito's Cadillac

Tito used this Cadillac to move around the National Park from 1953 to 1979, and it drove 18 000 miles. Besides Tito, numerous presidents and prime ministers, as well as actors and artists enjoyed the relaxed ride, with the most prominent figures being the Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser, Indian politician Jawaharlal Nehru, Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Prince of Cambodia Sihanouk, Dutch Queen Juliana, cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, actress Sophia Loren and her husband Carlo Ponti, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the singer, dancer and actress Josephine Baker and Croatian writer Miroslav Krleža.
