The Brijuni Islands are transporting you back to the 1920s

On 22 April 2023, the island of Veliki Brijun hosted a unique experience of glamour and entertainment, set against the backdrop of the Roaring Twenties. While a game of hickory golf, a kind of "old-style golf", was played at the Brijuni golf course, our visitors danced to the rhythm of electro swing, sip on some Gatsby-style cocktails, and enjoy a rich gastronomic offer.

4th Brioni Hickory Open Championship

Play: 18 holes stroke play

Match conditions: the tournament is played according to the official rules of the R&A and the local rules of Brioni golf course

Equipment: play with hickory shafted original golf clubs built before 1935. Regarding any club repairs the provisions of the Society of Hickory Golfers „List of Equipment & Club Renovations, only No.1., dated 31st of July 2009“ are applicable. Other club shaft materials then hickory wood and/or shaft inserts from metal are not permitted. Also modern replica hickory shafts are not allowed.

Eligible: are golfers who are members of the Istrian golf association clubs or full members of clubs affiliated to national golf federations playing a handicap of at least 54.0

Rating: gross score counts for championship title. In the case of the same final score, the better results of the last 9 holes. Then last 6, 3, 1holes. After, by lot.

Special gastronomic offer at Café Neptun

And for all gourmands, Chef Damjan Bistričić created a special menu that impressed even the most discerning palates.

The Roaring Twenties-inspired menu features a host of cocktails, sandwiches and sweet treats at promotional prices, while the mood was set by the amazing DJ Dino Sošić, accompanied by a saxophone.

The setting, music and good food are just part of what made this 1920s-themed day on the Brijuni Islands truly spectacular and unforgettable.
